Our optometrist at TSO takes the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describe your options and listen to your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, Dr. Brent Woolverton encourages you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing and treating potential vision problems.
The entire eye care staff at Texas State Optical Tomball TX also serve patients from the surrounding Texas areas. All walk-ins are welcome!
Dr. Brent Woolverton is a native of Houston, graduating from Westfield High School in 1997. He moved to the Tomball area with his family in 2010.
Dr. Woolverton obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology Degree from the University of Houston. He then went on to receive his Doctorate of Optometry from the University Of Houston College Of Optometry. In addition to being a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist, Dr. Woolverton has met the qualifications necessary to achieve the title of Optometric Glaucoma Specialist at TSO.
In his spare time, you might see Dr. Woolverton on the golf course or out at the movies with his family. He loves Sci-fi, Action and Comedy movies. Dr. Woolverton thoroughly enjoys watching the Texans, Astros and Rockets. Is this their year for 90 wins? Dr. Woolverton is the commissioner of the UHCO class of 2013 fantasy football league. Married over 15 years, with two boys and one girl, he is always keeping busy! He has a cat named Smokey. Dr. Woolverton and his family love to go bowling, play laser tag, video games, go to all sorts of sporting events and enjoy playing board games. Their favorite vacation spot is Pensacola, Florida.

Carrie is currently attending Lone Star College and would like to attend Optometry School upon graduation. She also does a lot of volunteer work. Carrie’s favorite part of her job is the atmosphere. She contributes a wonderful personality and plenty of experience here at Texas State Optical. Carrie considers being a loving wife as one of her proudest achievements! She is also committed to becoming a mother one day. In Carrie’s spare time, she likes to bowl, spend time with her husband, and to create memorable moments with her family. Her husband as well as she, enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities, which include hunting, fishing and camping. Her favorite childhood memory is spending quality time with her grandmother. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was the preeminent leader of the Indian independence movement in British-ruled India and also an inspiration to Carrie. Her favorite quote by Gandhi is stated below:
“The best way to find yourself is in the service of others.”
Ms. Mudock has over 30 years of Optical experience and is studying for her Master Optician Certification. At San Jacinto Community Junior College, Suzanne taught Lab/Dispensing skills in an Opticianry Program. “Helping people discover a ‘new look’ for themselves as well as participating in something as beautiful as bettering someone’s vision is what drives me in the Optical field.” states Suzanne. Suzanne has been involved with the Guerrero Eye Clinic in Mexico for over 10 years; taking part of charity work that specializes in free Cataracts surgery. “I set up the Optical Lab and onsite eyewear manufacturing to make glasses for kids who didn’t need surgery and adults who didn’t qualify.” says Suzanne. Ms. Murdock previously worked with NASA and was affiliated with the Johnson Space Program, fitting and making eyewear for the astronaut’s use in space as well as in training. “My proudest accomplishment would have to be, getting ABO and NCLE Certified for a field I’m passionate about.”
Outside of the office, Suzanne enjoys cooking and entertaining friends and family. While on vacation, Suzanne makes it priority to attend cooking lessons. Suzanne loves to travel, having visited over 11 countries and still counting! Founder of the Gonzo Journalism Movement, Hunter S. Thompson has provided Ms. Murdock with her favorite quote below:

Yolanda is a great contribution to the Texas State Optical team! She has such a fun-loving personality and positive attitude, always ready and willing to provide the patients with the best service. Yolanda is also fluent in English, Spanish and French! She plans to return to school in the near future to further her knowledge and become more informed in her current position. Her primary career goal is to move her way up with Texas State Optical to better herself as well as be the best she can be for her son. Her favorite part about her job is the fulfillment she receives being a part of the TSO team. Her co-workers provide her with great training and knowledge, helping her see and learn TSO’s procedures as well as teaching her to provide the utmost customer service. Her proudest accomplishment is becoming a mother and a better person because of it! Outside of work, Yolanda likes to dance, draw, spend quality time with her son at the park and to fish. Her favorite childhood memory is spending the weekend camping out in Freeport, Texas while fishing the night away with her loved ones. Yolanda’s favorite quote is said to have been spoken by the one and only Thomas Jefferson:

Kelly thoroughly enjoys being back in the workforce now that her three boys are older! She is a wonderful people person who is great with our Tomball Texas State Optical patients. “I love interacting with everyone.” states Kelly. Kelly remains busy and super helpful to her team and the patients. She is happy to have created a happy and healthy family and really likes to hike and camp when not in the office. Her favorite pastime is visiting her family in Georgia. Her favorite quote comes from a poet, memoirist, and civil rights activist, Ms. Maya Angelou:
“I did what I knew and when I knew better, I did better.”
Vincent is currently studying at Lone Star College for Basics and plans to transfer to the University of Houston to complete his Bachelors of Science of Public Health in the near future. His career goals are to attend University of Houston College of Optometry to receive his Doctorate’s Degree in Optometry. Vincent has a passion for the Optometry Field. He wants everyone to have the best vision possible and to be able to enjoy the beautiful nature on Earth. He thoroughly enjoys working with patients and striving to provide what is best for them. “Our staff at TSO in Tomball is one big happy family.” Vincent states. Vincent is not only fluent in English but fluent in Vietnamese as well. One of Vincent’s proudest accomplishments is being given the title “Drum Major” in his High School Marching Band. Only four people out of 250 members are picked to be leaders of the Band. Outside of work, Vincent likes to spend time with his little brother and sister, play the drums and sing for his Church. One of his favorite memories is a field trip he attended to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida with his High School’s Honor Band. Vincent’s favorite quote comes from the movie Big Hero 6:

Corrie thoroughly enjoys the friendly environment that Texas State Optical brings. “I have great co-workers and really like building relationships with Tomball’s patients. The opportunity to meet and help people daily is very rewarding.” Corrie states. Corrie has such a positive attitude and willingness to learn and contribute in a team setting. “The most important part of my job is to make sure every patient feels welcomed.” Corrie says. Corrie is not only fluent in English but Spanish as well. Her proudest accomplishment is becoming a mother. Outside of work Corrie spends time at the gym, loves going to church, can’t put down a good book and spends quality time with her daughters. Corrie use to spend her summer vacations as a child in Honduras, listening to her grandmothers beautiful stories. Corrie’s favorite quote comes from the Bible:

Martha has been with TSO over 23 years. Her favorite part of her job is being able to make a difference in the way the patients see the world. She is very versatile and is able to work efficiently in any position that Texas State Optical requires. She is highly energetic and very professional and brings a great vibe to the team. Martha is very knowledgeable when it comes to Frame Styling and lenses and takes pride in her work. She is always ready to help the patients see better as well as educate them about the health of their eyes. Martha is always thrilled at helping put our patients in the best looking frames. Her greatest accomplishments are her children. She spends most of her free time with her husband and St. Bernard ‘Monabella’. She loves the outdoors and enjoys working in the yard. Martha also enjoys various art projects, music, movies, reading, shopping and fast cars. Maya Angelou, an American author, poet, and civil rights activist, gives a quote that is very inspirational to Martha:
